What is RotoHound?
RotoHound is a set of decision tools for season-long fantasy baseball. It imports your league from your platform and computes everything against that league’s actual settings: rest-of-season projections, dollar values, projected standings, and trade and pickup analysis scored in projected standings points. Which fantasy platforms can RotoHound import?
Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, Fantrax, Ottoneu, NFBC, OnRoto, RTSports, and Fleaflicker. Import pulls rosters, settings, and standings automatically, and a refresh keeps them current during the season. There is no manual roster entry.
Is RotoHound free?
Yes. RotoHound is free for the 2026 season with a free account.
Which scoring formats does RotoHound support?
Rotisserie and head-to-head leagues, with category or points scoring: 5x5 rotisserie, 4x4 (Ottoneu Classic), FanGraphs Points, SABR Points, Yahoo points, ESPN points, CBS points, custom categories, and custom point values. Every value and projection on the site is computed for the league’s specific format, so an OBP league, an AVG league, and a points league price the same player differently.
Where do the projections come from?
RotoHound publishes its own projection system. Rest-of-season lines are rebuilt daily from usage, injuries, and roster status. You can also upload projections from FanGraphs or any other source, and every tool runs on whichever system you set as your default. Projection methodology
How accurate are RotoHound’s projections?
In a published 10-season backtest against Steamer and ZiPS, Steamer leads nearly every category and RotoHound places second overall, ahead of ZiPS on hitters and level with it on pitchers. How are the dollar values calculated?
For category leagues, RotoHound values production above replacement level on one common scale, a version of the standings gain points (SGP) method with each category standardized by how much players vary in it. For points leagues it uses points above replacement. Values are computed from the league’s actual settings: team count, roster slots, categories or point values, and budget. Why does RotoHound show a different value than another rankings site?
RotoHound prices players for one specific league configuration rather than producing a universal ranking. A 12-team 5x5 league, a 15-team OBP league, and a points league are different markets, and the same player is worth different amounts in each. When two sources disagree, check whether they are pricing the same format, the same league size, and the same projection period.
Does RotoHound support dynasty and keeper leagues?
Yes. Each player carries a multi-year dynasty value computed from 300 simulated career paths covering this season plus nine future seasons, risk-adjusted for injury, role loss, decline, and, for prospects, the chance they never arrive. How does RotoHound decide whether a trade is good?
The trade analyzer applies the trade to both rosters, rebuilds each team’s lineup, projects every team’s rest-of-season stats, and recalculates the league standings. The score is the change in projected standings points for each side, in the league’s exact categories or point values, with a category-by-category breakdown. Trade Analyzer
How does RotoHound evaluate a waiver pickup?
The pickup analyzer scores the add and the drop as one move: it rebuilds your lineup with both applied and reports the net change in your projected standings points. A pickup that looks good on raw stats can still cost you points once the drop and your lineup are accounted for. Pickup Analyzer
Can I use my own projections?
Yes. You can upload projection CSVs from FanGraphs or any other source, keep several systems side by side, and choose which one powers the site. Player values, projected standings, and the trade and pickup analyzers all run on whichever system you set as your default.
Does RotoHound change anything in my league?
No. RotoHound reads rosters, settings, and standings from your platform and does not write lineups or transactions back. Every move you evaluate on RotoHound still has to be made on your platform.
Is my league data private?
Yes. Imported leagues are visible only to the account that imported them. The public pages carry RotoHound’s own rankings and projections, never any user’s league data.
